I'm just an animal looking for a home

Well, it took 5 hours, but I’ve finished copying over my LiveJournal entries over here.  At first I intended to go through them and only copy over the “best” ones, but I decided that would take too long and instead copied them all over.  I made a quick pass at tagging them all, but I don’t think my tagging methodology will win any awards for efficiency or organization.  Oh well, what can you do?

It also crossed my mind that I could go back to my old paper journals from when I was a teenager and copy some of those entries over.  I wrote a lot of pretty dumb stuff back then, though, so we’ll see about that one.  I can say with a fair degree of certainty that I won’t be copying all of THOSE entries.  You know what they say about how often a 15-year old boy thinks about sex?  Well, they say it for a reason!

Going through all of my old LJ entries was an interesting trip down memory lane.  It made me miss Rasputin, of course.  I also noticed that almost all of my active LJ periods came when I was single.  Being in a relationship apparently diverts much of the energy that I would otherwise spend in these pursuits.  It should come as no surprise then that I am currently single — otherwise I probably wouldn’t have devoted an entire evening to setting up this blog.  But I had for a long time wanted to move off of LJ and onto something that is under my own control, so I can check THAT off my bucket list!  Fuck, I don’t like that bucket list has entered the lexicon.  I don’t know why, I just don’t.

So what is this blog going to be “about”?  Probably much the same as my LJ, which is to say, me rambling about whatever is on my mind at that moment… cats, softball, baseball, horror movies, other movies, animal rights, civil rights, ethics in general, grammar, and, well, pretty much anything is fair game.

And with that, I bid you adieu.  I’m going to see if there is a way to update this badboy from my iPhone, mainly so I can then post entries complaining about how painful it is to type entries of any length from my phone.  TTFN!!!!!!!!
