So it turns out that XTC may have been the best live band ever, or anyway, they have more awesome YouTube live videos than any other band I’ve come across.  Just a sample:

It’s a shame that XTC stopped touring after Andy’s nervous breakdown in the early 1980’s.  They did perform live after that (as evidenced by some of the videos above) but they stopped touring.  Fortunately there are all of these great live recordings.  Along with They Might Be Giants and the Violent Femmes, XTC have been one of my favorite bands pretty much ever since I first got into music.  So good.
