Game #6

Date: Mar 21, 2002
Start: 7:25pm
End: 8:20pm
Where: Havins Field #2
Opponents: Flamingoes

We were the home team (meaning we batted second).

Outcome: WIN
Final score: 25-10

Note: It was a windy night, and although both teams tried to take advantage of this, Nathan was able to pitch incredibly despite the unfavorable conditions. More than one of the Flamingoes struck out looking, trying to take a walk. The Weasels offense was not entirely due to walks, however. When the Flamingoes' pitcher threw strikes, the Weasels responded with solid hits. Both Tammy and Cory got in-the-park homeruns. Nathan was barely robbed of an in-the-parker by a great throw to the plate -- but that mattered little, as it was the final out of a 24 run first inning by the Weasels. The Weasels batted through their lineup over 3 times during the first inning alone. It was an offensive barrage that ended in the bottom of the second inning, with the 15-run rule being applied. A nice way to break the losing streak. The credit goes in equal parts to the stunning offense and to Nathan's fantastic pitching. Thank you, Andrea, for keeping score.
