Note: A game with a lot of ups and downs for the Weasels. It began badly, with Phil twisting his ankle during warmups before the game. Fortunately a guy named Ryan was available to sub, and played for Phil. The game itself began well with Newton hitting an in-the-park home run. After that, however, trouble began. The opponents took the lead and held it. Late in the game, the Weasels staged a rally which included four home runs in five at bats. After this outburst, the Weasels led 14-9. Going into the top half of the inning, time was running low and the Weasels were confident. Perhaps overconfident, as it turned out, as the opponents scored 6 runs to take a 15-14 lead. Pressure was on the Weasels. Jesse led off the inning with a single, but was doubled off first base when Carrie lined out. With two outs, Mitch worked a walk, and Susan took the automatic walk behind him. Newton hit a clutch double, scoring Mitch to tie the game, and advancing Susan to third base. Julienne followed with a flare up the left field line that scored Susan, and the Weasels pulled out the victory. A fun, if stressful game. Ryan turned out to be a super-sub, hitting three in-the-park home runs. Newton hit two in-the-parkers, and Nicki and Cory had one a piece. Thanks to Nicki, Cory, and Ryan for subbing.
