Note: A fine end to the Summer II season for the Weasels, becoming the only team in the league to defeat GFY. The bottom of the first inning featured a fine defensive play. With nobody out and a runner on first base, the batter hit a ball to deep left-center field. Greg ranged back and made the catch as the runner tagged from first base. Greg made a strong throw on one hop to Nora at second base, and she applied the tag just before the runner reached the base. The bottom of the second inning ended with a remarkable catch on a deep drive to right-center field by Newton. Solo inside-the-park home runs were the order of the day in the top of the third inning -- Newton led off the inning with one, and both Greg and Neil hit solo shots as well. Throughout the entire game lightning had been visible on the horizon all around the park, but no rain. During the bottom of the third inning Becky left the game and headed home due to concerns about the storm. No sub for her was on hand, but her spot in the batting order was not reached after she left the game, so no automatic outs were recorded. The game was called after four innings, with around 7 minutes left on the clock, due to weather concerns. The rain which began shortly thereafter showed the wisdom in this decision. A nice way to cap off a good season, Weasels!

Partway through the bottom of the third inning (at least one out had been recorded), Becky left the game and went home, becauss she was concerned about the lightning on the horizon. We had no one to sub in for her spot in the lineup, but she had been the last out of the top of the third inning, and her spot in the lineup was not reached again during the game. For the rest of the bottom of the third inning, Amanda played C, Carrie Z played RF, Neil played DH, Azzy played 1B, Patrick played LF, Nora played 3B, and Carrie M played 2B.
In the fourth inning, Amanda played 1B, Carrie Z played LF, Neil played 3B, Azzy played RF, Patrick played DH, Nora played C, and Carrie M played 2B.
