Notes: This was a close game with a number of exciting plays. Sadly, the Weasels came up just a bit short. The offensive leader for the Weasels was Jason (2 singles and 1 double in 3 plate appearances). There were a few defensive highlights for the Weasels. In the bottom of the second inning, there were two outs and runners on first and second base when the batter hit a deep fly ball to left-center field. Zook retrieved the ball and threw to Tom, who relayed the ball to Natasha at catcher in time to tag out the runner who had tried to score from second base. In the bottom of the third inning, with the bases loaded and two outs, the opposing batter hit a ground ball up the middle. Tim fielded it in shallow right-center field and made an incredible throw to Chris at third base to force out the runner coming from second base. The final impressive defensive play came in the bottom of the 6th inning. The game was tied and time had expired. If the Weasels allowed a run to score, it was the end of the game. There were no outs and runners on first and second base when the batter hit a shallow line drive into right-field. Lindsey threw the ball to Tom, and he fired the ball in to Lucy at catcher in time for her to make a bang-bang play to tag out the runner who had tried to score from second base. Alas, this only delayed defeat for the Weasels for two more batters, when the opponents managed to push across the winning run on a sacrifice fly to left-center field.
