Notes: A very close, exciting game to end the season. The game was tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. With one out in the inning and the bases empty, Jason hit a line drive into right-center field for a single. Natasha hit a drive into left-center field that was tracked down by the left-center fielder, and Jason was unable to advance. Now with two outs in the inning, Neil followed with a line-drive to right-center field. As the right-center fielder was getting the ball, Jason was rounding second base. Chris was third base coach, and was calling for Jason to come to third base. The outfielder made a strong throw, but it was slightly off, and it skipped past the third baseman around the same time as Jason was arriving at the bag. He quickly bolted for home, scoring the game-winning run before the other team could retrieve the ball and make a throw. The offensive leaders for the Weasels were Jason (3 singles in 3 plate appearances) and Mitch (2 singles in 2 plate appearances). The game was filled with solid defensive plays by both teams. In the top of the second inning, with a runner on first base and no outs, the batter hit a ground ball back to Neil at pitcher. He threw to Chris at shortstop to record the force out at second base, and he threw to a stretching Lucy at first base to complete the double play. In the top of the third inning, with a runner on second base and two outs, Tim ran back and caught a deep drive to left field, ending the inning. Thanks to Corey and Becky for subbing.
