Game #7

Date: 4/12/01
Start: 7:25pm
End: 8:20pm
Where: Krieg Field #6
Opponents: Arc Angels

We were the visiting team (meaning we batted first).

Outcome: WIN
Final score: 18-1

Note: As the score refelcts, the Weasels were dominant offensively and defensively in this game. Neil made a number of tough catches and stops at shortstop. Brandy had a great game at first base, stretching to get the ball while still remaining on the bag. As we have come to expect, Amy turned in a beautiful pitching performance. Matt showed us all how catcher is supposed to be played, tagging a player out at the plate, as well as stopping a ball from rolling foul so he could throw the batter out at first. Cory made a sliding stop in shallow right field to stop a hard-hit grounder. Very few balls made it to the outfield, and the team made very few defensive mistakes. On top of this, the offense was red hot. Most of the team got four at-bats during the game. Cory got an in-the-park homeruns. Amy, Cory, and Matt got triples. Mitch went two for three, and a number of Weasels turned outs into base hits by hustling to first base. Overall the Ice Weasels played a very solid game. After the game, Amy was awarded the Winter 2000-2001 season trophy, as she was voted the MVP for that season.
