The Web: Walking Across Town

It's a long walk across town, but you want to spend as much time in the sun as possible. Your mother warned you about heatstroke the other day, but she worries too much. After all, she also told you to look both ways when crossing the street, and you've never found too much use for THAT advice. You've never looked both ways, and you've only been injured once as a result of it...and you only ended up with a broken arm and a minor concussion. You can't waste your time worrying about getting hurt. A little pain never killed anyone, and even if it did, who are you to defy fate? When it's your time to die, there's nothing you can do about it, so why waste your time wearing a seatbelt or looking before you leap?

You are busy thinking these thoughts when an alien craft locks you in their tractor beam. As they pull you into their vessel, you note that this is one accident you couldn't have avoided even if you HAD listened to your mother. You are still appreciating the irony when the aliens begin vivisecting you. Your fatalistic outlook affords you little comfort during the final, incredibly painful moments of your life.

*** YOU HAVE DIED ***
Your final score is 7 out of a possible 254 points. This gives you the rank of Acting Ensign. Better luck next time.
