Note: It was a close game the entire time. The first few innings were back and forth, each of us scoring 2-4 runs. There were some nice plays made, including a hard hit line drive caught by Brandy. Going into the final inning, the score was 11-10 -- we were ahead by a single run. They batted first, and were only able to score a single run, tying the game. Then we came up to bat, with 1 minute left in the game. Mitch batted first and drew a walk, which put him on second base. Amy had the option of taking an automatic walk, but elected to hit instead, reducing the chances of a double play. She got a single, but Mitch was unable to advance. Next Neil shot a line drive up the middle. The pitcher made a great play and caught it as it was about to rocket over his head. One out, Brandy to the plate. Brandy was patient and also drew a walk. Bases loaded, one out, Cory to the plate. By this point, time had run out. Cory knew that all he had to do was hit a fly ball, and Mitch would be able to tag up and score. And that's just what he did. Cory knocked a fly ball to the outfield, which was caught. The instant it hit the fielder's glove, Mitch tagged up. The throw to the plate wasn't good, and Mitch scored. That ended the game with an Ice Weasel victory, 12-11 -- our second consecutive win. This leaves us with a perfect record this season, to date. No other team has a perfect record, so we're in first place at the moment.
